Course Overview

Foundations of Soul Care Counseling is structured as a guided journey through three movements: Heart, Posture, and Practice. Each movement builds intentionally on the one before it, shaping not only how we offer care, but who we are becoming as we come alongside others.

The course begins by attending to the Heart—who God is, the heart He has for His people, and how His character forms the deepest foundation for soul care. From there, it turns toward Posture, exploring the way Christ engages others and inviting us to adopt that same posture of presence, humility, and compassion in our relationships. Only then does the course move into Practice, offering practical skills that flow naturally from a formed heart and faithful posture.

Rather than functioning as a collection of isolated lessons, the course is designed to be experienced as an integrated whole. Themes introduced early are revisited and deepened over time, allowing understanding to grow slowly and organically. This course is foundational in nature—not exhaustive—offering a coherent framework for soul care that can continue to shape your ministry long after the final module.

How to Make the Most of This Course

This course is designed to be taken slowly. You’re not meant to rush through it or master everything on the first pass. Some of the most important work will happen as you linger, reflect, and allow the themes to surface again and again.

As you move through the modules, you may find that some content feels familiar while other portions stir new questions or tension. Both are part of the process. Growth in soul care rarely comes from gaining quick answers; it comes from being formed over time as you seek the Lord through His Word and follow His lead.

You’re encouraged to:

  • Move through the course at a pace that allows space for attentiveness and prayer

  • Return to earlier modules as new connections emerge

  • Sit with questions rather than rushing to resolve them

  • Let this course accompany your real-life ministry
